Pet-Friendly Maumee, Ohio Food Truck Friday
Are you looking for a dog-friendly and family-friendly Friday Night? If so, Maumee’s Food Truck Friday might be just what you are looking for.
Dexter The Dog and my human family love to have fun dog-friendly weekend adventures. Maumee, Ohio is 5 minutes down the road from us and has a great summer Friday event that we all enjoy, Maumee’s Food Truck Friday! Maumee Uptown Business Association has been putting on this dog-friendly event for two years.
Maumee’s Food Truck Fridays are in the heart of the historic district. For those unfamiliar with this great little town, Uptown Maumee has a variety of unique shops and local businesses. Food Truck Fridays are held during the summer months from 5pm to 9pm on Conant and East Wayne Street in Maumee, Ohio. There is always plenty of on-street parking and even free parking lots right across the street from the food trucks.
The line-up of local food trucks depends on individual truck availability, so it varies from week to week. This past Friday, Deets BBQ, Grumpy’s Deli, Rusty’s Road Trip, Nick & Nino’s Coal Fired Grill, Zin Coffee, Nacho Danny, Displaced Chef, Jacky’s Depot, and Rosie’s Italian were all in attendance. Another bonus is that the Maumee Farmers Market is also going on. There are plenty of tables and even tents to block out the sun. A local DJ rocks out some tunes and occasionally there is a live band.
After considering all the options, I decided to give Rusty’s Road Trip a try. I ordered an Italian grilled cheese and home cut fries. After I placed my order, the owner reintroduced herself to me – she had taken my dog training classes in the past! What a small world; you gotta love local!
I made a great food choice. The Italian grilled cheese from Rusty’s Road Trip was excellent. The bread was crispy and the cheese was gooey and delicious. I’m not sure what all was inside, but the flavors were great! The fresh cut fries were very tasty. And yes, Dexter did get to try a few, too.
After we all ate our local meals, we sat and listened to the DJ. It was a very nice and relaxing atmosphere. Families bustled around while the kids were laughing and playing. Once our food settled, we checked out the local merchants at the Maumee Farmer’s Market. My step-dad picked up some local bread and butter pickles, then we headed home. Another great Friday was under our belt.

The food looks delicious.
I have not ever taken part in any public even with my dogs, but I think it would be wonderful to try.

Oo I love food trucks. I’d bring my cats, but they’d probably be ticked off. So I don’t bring pets out with us. But I am all about food events!
Food trucks are the best. I have seen some traveling cats. But, it’s not for everyone. 🙂

Man this looks like so much fun. I wish we had food trucks here. Once a month downtown, they have a family night outing. I have never been though because I have my baby. I want to start going next year. I think dogs are allowed also.
