Healthy Dog Treat Recipes | Low Calorie Dog Smoothie Treat. Mom is always trying to find me healthy food and dog treats to eat. We also like to take our adventures to the local ice cream shops. She’s been feeling guilty for allowing me to eat the dairy and non-organic ice cream when we’re there. So, she came up with this little snack! Grandma’s morning smoothies were her inspiration.

All you need to do is clean the fruit and veggies, place in a blender and blend away! Then Mom filled my Rita Dog Toy with the organic smoothie mixture, placed the toy in a small glass to hold it upright and froze it.

With the extra smoothie, she filled ice cube trays and froze those, too. Once frozen, she popped the cubes out and placed in a glass container for the future. She can then thaw 2 cubes and refill the Rita Dog Toy and freeze again. Voila! A healthy frozen dog treat to replace the not-so-healthy ice cream.
