It’s about time Mom had me do another healthy dog treat review! I’ve been a little dry these days. Luckily for me, Halo, Purely For Pets sent me some Halo Liv-a-Littles Salmon dog treats to review. Nothing beats a tasty morsel.

When my box arrived from Halo, Purely For Pets my sniffer was working hard. I know, I just know when there is something good in a box. And I always hope it’s for me. It usually is, of course. I ran over to “my spot” trying to encourage Mom to open the box quicker and get to the good stuff.

Oh, finally I could see they were tasty treats for me! The wholesome aroma that only I could smell filled the room. Mom brought me over the container of Halo Liv-a-Littles Salmon dog treats to get a better smell. Yup, drool started to drip down my face. Boy, that can be embarrassing! Mom slowly opened the jar of Halo Liv-a-Littles Salmon dog treats. You know, I think she likes to tease me at times. I know she can open those jars quicker than she did. Finally, she gave me a treat! Oh, wow. It was worth the wait.

The wild salmon dog treat was so flavorful that I started to drool again for a second one. Halo Liv-a-Littles Salmon dog treats are freeze-dried to hold in all the flavor. Mom said that the treat has a “high value” perfect for dog training. These treats are 100% wild salmon, no fillers of any kind. Now it’s time in my review to break down Halo Liv-a-Littles Salmon dog treats.

First, it’s a single ingredient (just wild salmon) which is always important, especially if you intend to use the healthy dog treat for dog training. That also means no chemicals, preservatives, dyes, or coloring agents. The ingredients are both sourced and manufactured in the USA. Those are some impressive stats. Mom also said that some of the salmon treats can be broken into smaller bites for dog training. Not that I agree with that idea, but it can be done. She also had them in her pocket all day and said they did not crumble or turn into powder like some other freeze-dried dog training treats do. They make two other flavors too: Halo Liv-a-Littles Chicken and Halo Liv-a-Littles Beef.

Halo Liv-a-Littles Salmon Dog Treats are a big win in my book!
Thank you again, Halo, Purely For Pets for allowing me to review your treats.

Pros: 100% wild salmon and nothing else, made and sourced in the USA, high-value reward for dog training, did not crumble in pocket, healthy treat, very enjoyable
Cons: Can’t think of a single one!

Another good day of reviewing healthy dog treats for me. I have to say a big THANK YOU to all those kind manufacturers and companies for allowing me to have a taste of their delights. Today, a big thank you to Primal Pet Foods Inc. for sending me their Primal Pet Foods Turkey Liver Munchies to try. You can also read my review of their Primal Pet Foods Freeze Dried-Chicken Formula here.

When it comes to dog treats, Mom is very picky about what goes in our cookie jar. She insists that the dog treats are healthy, sourced in a safe country, and do not have artificial stuff in them. I think she’s a bit crazy, but do have to admit that whatever she gives me usually is quite tasty. So if it’s healthy AND tasty, I’m in!

Mom had this package of Primal Pet Foods Turkey Liver Munchies in her closet for the week, and I just knew they were in there. I kept nudging the closet door, whimpering, but she just wouldn’t give in. She said, “it’s not time, Dexter” and made me move away. Finally, today she pulled out the bag of treats and smiled at me. Oh, I was excited, I knew what that smile meant!

My eyes were very big, and I could hardly contain myself as she slowly opened the bag of Primal Pet Foods Turkey Liver Munchies. Once she unzipped the bag, the good smell filled the air. With usual Mom style, she had to take some dog photos first and make me “leave it” before I was able to gobble up my first munchie.

It was worth the wait. It tasted so good, surely one of my big hitters. One bite packed a lot of punch. Mom even said they had “high value” for dog training. There she goes again, thinking about me working. The munchies came in irregular pieces but are easily broken to small sized dog training bites. Not that I encourage you to do that, but you can if you need to. She also had them in her pocket for the day, and they did not crumble and turn to powder like some freeze dried dog training treats do.

The vendors that supply their proteins do not import any of their animal feed from countries outside of the United States. NICE JOB!

Dr. Harvey’s Treats

Now this is a dog product review I can get used to. Dr. Harvey’s was kind enough to send me some great, healthy dog treats, dog food, and dog grooming products to review. Ok, I’d rather do the edible items, and not have a bath…but I’ll forgive them for that. Today I’m going to tell you about Dr. Harvey’s Le Dogue Bites Freeze Dried Single Ingredient Treats for Dogs, Fish

As soon as our box from Dr. Harvey arrived, I was all over it. I couldn’t get Mom to open the package fast enough. Even though I was spinning and running around the kitchen, she just wasn’t getting the message. Finally, she opened the box that was filled with dog treats, dog food, dog shampoo, and some other doggie goodies.

Mom then picked a package and started looking at it. My sniffer was in overdrive, and I really wanted to see…..okay, taste, what she had. She bent down and let me sniff the bag of Dr. Harvey’s Le Dogue Bites Freeze Dried Single Ingredient Treats for Dogs, Fish. Oh, yeah, that’s the ticket! Then I tasted the fish treat. Oh, it was cod. I love cod.

Natural dog treat reviews
Perfect for dog training treats.

The Le Dogue Bites are perfect bite-sized dog training treats. They are freeze-dried to hold in all the goodness and flavor. Mom is always talking about how a treat has to have “value” when dog training, and these sure did. No fillers to distort the flavor.

Mom said she can even break the treat up into 3 more pieces to use for dog training. Wait. What? Why would you want to do that, Mom?  She also had them in her pocket for the day, and they did not crumble and turn to powder like some other freeze dried dog training treats she tried.

Some good stats on Dr. Harvey’s Freeze-Dried Cod Treats: Single Ingredient (just cod), human grade, no chemicals, preservatives, dyes, coloring agents, made in the USA. That’s some good stuff!

Dr. Harvey’s Le Dogue Bites Freeze Dried Single Ingredient Treats for Dogs, Fish Ingredients: Freeze-dried cod

Pros: 100% cod and nothing else, made in the USA, high-value reward for dog training, did not crumble in pocket, healthy treat, very enjoyable
Cons: None that we could think of.

I give Dr. Harvey’s Freeze-Dried Cod Treats a big paws up.
