Pet-Friendly Hotels in Norwalk, Connecticut

This was the first time I felt the urge to spend an entire day enjoying what my dog-friendly hotel had to offer. EVEN Hotels are not your average pet-friendly hotel chain. Their slogan, “Stay well, even on the road” is highlighted through all of their unparalleled amenities, such as their dog-friendly relaxing spaces, game room, outside area, and lounge with a great firepit. Dexter and other well-behaved dogs are welcomed in all the areas of the hotel. EVEN Hotels truly welcome dogs!

EVEN Hotel Breakfast Options

Our room included both a mini refrigerator and a Keurig coffeemaker. Bringing our own breakfast foods was an option, so we enjoyed a fruit breakfast and coffee in our rooms. However, another great option for breakfast is the hotel’s restaurant Cork & Kale™ or grab a healthy, conventional meal or snack at their Market and Bar. Cork & Kale™ serves up great tasting, good-for-you foods that are freshly prepared. If you have dietary restrictions, no worries. They offer a wide range of gluten-free and all-natural choices.

Did I mention how welcoming EVEN Hotels are to dogs? As Dexter and I walked by the breakfast spread, the nice breakfast host asked if Dexter could have some country bacon! Needless to say, Dexter had a great start to his day.

EVEN Hotels Dog-Friendly Amenities

After breakfast and getting ourselves ready for the day, we took advantage of their welcoming, dog-friendly indoor lounge area. Traveling can take a lot out of Dexter and the family, so a relaxing environment was just what we all needed. What was really nice was that we all connected and talked about all the fun we had so far on our dog-friendly New England road trip. It was an unexpected way to connect with each other.

Truly dog-friendly

During the day, we found ourselves playing a little a foosball and Ping-Pong. I so appreciate the fact that Dexter was able to accompany us during all of our activities. A lot of hotels do not allow dogs in their public spaces such as their game rooms, which means I cannot enjoy them. But, this was defiantly not the case with EVEN Hotels Norwalk.

EVEN Hotels Other Amenities

EVEN Hotel thinks about wellness, health, and relaxation in everything they offer. Our family certainly enjoyed all of the hotel’s many relaxing and fun activities. For those travelers wanting to stick to their workout routine, they have a pretty impressive health-and-fitness center, athletic studio, and even offer group classes.

If working out in the privacy of your own room is more your style, EVEN Hotels has you covered. Their Wellness rooms and suites come equipped with your very own in-room training zone and fitness kit. The room’s large 40-inch HDTV comes with the hotel’s in-room exercise programs, which was completed with a how-to colored guide. All this on top of an eco-friendly cork tile floor to help prevent slipping and injury.

Dog-Friendly Outdoor Restaurant and Patio in Norwalk, Connecticut

For dinner, we took advantage of the hotel’s restaurant, Cork & Kale™. We ordered our food and took it outside on the dog-friendly patio and lounge area. It was a beautiful evening, perfect for eating outdoors.

Lots of outdoor spaces

My mom ordered a tomato-and-cheese flatbread pizza. The crust was a crisp lavosh topped with fresh tomatoes, baby spinach, red onion, mozzarella and pecorino cheeses lightly seasoned with garlic. Ed ordered a nice-looking salad that was full of grape tomatoes, red onions, avocado and topped with their house-made salad dressing. I went with my favorite, grilled chicken, with brown rice, black beans, and a fresh avocado dip.

After dinner, we had one more thing up our sleeves. We thought sitting around the fire relaxing with family while toasting marshmallows would be the perfect way to end our dog-friendly Connecticut family vacation. Perfection.

  1. Your dog is so adorable. I love that this hotel has a good mix of people and dog things. I’m sure it can be hard to find hotels willing to accommodate pets.

  2. This is really nice. The hotel looks just perfect for a quiet family stay. I like the fact that there was a mini-refrigerator in the room as well. I must say that the food looks amazing and roasting marshmallows at the fire was just perfect. Open fires are awesome.

  3. Great post! I’m so happy that more and more hotels and restaurants are pet friendly. I don’t have a pet yet, but I do enjoy watching them. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Even hotels sound great! I tried to travel with my Bullmastiff a few times and even though they allowed dogs the amenities were lacking a little. We need more hotels like Even!

  5. The dog is so cute. I have a cat, but my parents have a dog, and always wonder where to go so they could take him with them. It’s nice to learn about this place that accepts dogs.

  6. This is really awesome. It is nice that Dexter got to share in some of the social activities with you and Ed! And I have never seen in-room workout gear! Awesome!

  7. I’ve heard so many people tell me not to get a dog because I travel so often. That’s exactly why I want a dog though! There are more and more dog-friendly hotels and attractions, and I especially like how EVEN truly welcomes four-legged travelers. Thanks for sharing this hotel option for Norwalk!
