Dog-Friendly Valdosta, Georgia-Where we visited on this trip to Georgia: The Quality Inn South
Valdosta, Georgia: On our way to Madeira Beach, Florida, Dexter The Dog, Grandma, Eddie, and I had an overnight stay in Valdosta Georgia. Traveling from Ohio to Florida in one day just wasn’t going to happen. Before we left for our trip, we booked a room with two double beds at The Quality Inn South. The location was perfect for us, just off Interstate 75 and north of the Florida-Georgia line and it was easy to find. This meant that we would be refreshed for our following day of travel and eager to visit the Florida welcome center bright and early. We were minutes from a variety of restaurants, which we appreciated after a long drive.
The Quality Inn South’s grounds were very well landscaped. Upon entering the check-in area, I was greeted by the friendly hotel clerk who made me feel welcome. The hotel lobby was bright, clean and inviting. As Dexter The Dog and my folks continued to walk to our room, I was again struck by the hotel grounds. Nothing fancy, but impeccably clean. The dog-friendly hotel room was perfect for our overnight stay. We had two comfortable double beds, desk, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. I especially appreciated the vanity sink and mirror outside of the bathroom. This is a great convenience when traveling with family. I went down to the front desk to ask for extra bath towels and the clerk was very kind and agreed, no questions asked. For whatever reason, getting more towels is like pulling teeth at some locations, but not here.
The hotel stay was quiet and peaceful. Just what we weary travelers needed. After a restful sleep, we hit the free continental breakfast. The breakfast bar was clean, full and fresh. They had a variety of juices, milk, coffee, bagels, muffins, donuts, fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, meat and a waffle maker. I actually made my first waffle! Dexter, of course, got his scrambled eggs.
Staying at The Quality Inn South in Valdosta, Georgia was a great experience. It is certainly a dog-friendly hotel I can recommend. The grounds were well-maintained, it was a perfect location off the highway, family friendly and I felt very safe walking the hotel grounds, something I value.

Do you travel with your dog? What about your cat? Let me know in the comments below.
Nice hotel, This is good information since we take our dog with us everywhere and most of our traveling these days are road trips so we can do just that. I will keep this in mind if I am ever traveling to the south
I love that you take your dog. It makes for such a great adventure.
A great place made even more special by the fact that it’s pet-friendly! In short, a piece of advice that I have to give to my best friends, owners of a dog and looking for places like this 😉
Thanks! I appreciate you sharing.
Oh my gosh, I will totally share this with my friends! Such a good read.
Thanks, Alissa. I really appreciate that.
One of the reasons why we are reluctant to get a dog, even if my kids are begging for it, is that we couldn’t bring the pet when we travel. Hotels here aren’t four-legged friendly.
Having a dog means planning ahead. Luckily, we’ve been able to find great dog-friendly accommodations across the US and Canada.
I am not an animal owner, but I know bonafide furry lovers who are always looking for great hotels that they, and their furry family, can comfortable stay in. I’ll share this for if/when they travel to the Valdosta area (currently in TN).
Thanks for sharing! We’re heading to Tennessee in 2019. A great state.
Nice that they give you breakfast! And it is good to know places to go when I bring my two dogs…something mu husband always want to do when we travel 🙂
Included breakfast is always so nice. You should do it! I love traveling with Dexter.
I’ve traveled with my dog before. Looks like this stay was pleasant and that free breakfast—I’ve never seen waffles offered! UGH LOVE!
Free breakfast is always a huge plus! Saves on finding a dog-friendly restaurant. 🙂
We used to travel with our dog. It is hard to find a place for the dog to stay. And they always charge more. I loved the dog, but not all the extra work.
It is unfortunate that some hotels charge for pets. I think it’s a bit odd they don’t charge more for kids! lol
Thanks for the review of the hotel. It looks very pleasant and comfortable. Great option if you travel with a dog or cat.
Thanks, Jelena. It was a nice, clean and safe hotel. Very important.
Having a good hotel to stay in overnight during traveling is always important. This hotel sounds like it was a perfect one for you all to take a break in your traveling. The hotel does look really amazing.
Thanks, Jessica. It was a great stopping point and super nice and accommodating.
I think it’s nice place to have peace and serenity. Just like what everyone needed these days. That dog is so cute.
Thank you. I agree peace and calm is so needed.
This sounds like such a great place! Wish I could stay there!
The Quality Inn was very nice.
I’m glad you were able to find a hotel that worked well for you all and Dexter. Looks like it was well maintained!
Thanks, Denisha. It was so clean and safe. Perfect stop.
Oh I love reading your posts and seeing your pictures of your adorable dog! I have two myself … they probably wouldn’t be as cooperative as your pup at pet-friendly places, but I totally get the love you feel for your pup! I love being able to include them in things 🙂
Thank, you Dani. Dexter has been traveling with me since he was a puppy and went through years of my dog training classes. But, he’s not perfect. 😉
The grounds looked nice. I really wish they wouldn’t charge for pets, or at least, make it a deposit only.
I totally agree.
What a wonderful post! This place looks amazing. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Thank you.
I seldom see or hear about animal friendly accommodations and this truly made my day! The place looks nice and cozy too.
The Quality Inn was very nice and cozy. 🙂
This sounds like a nice hotel. I wish I could stay there! Thanks for sharing! ?
We really enjoyed the QUality Inn in Valdosta. A great stay!
