Dog-Friendly Outer Banks (Corolla), NC-Where we visited on this trip to Corolla, NC: Whalehead, Currituck Beach Lighthouse, Steamers To Go, Tim Buck II

Dog-Friendly Outer Banks Duck, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head and Manteo

Corolla, NC  Our week vacation at the Outer Banks continued to be very dog-friendly and a lot of fun. Next up was to see what dog-friendly activities we could find in Corolla, NC.
First up, Whalehead in historic Corolla. Dogs must be on a leash at Whalehead but the park is dog-friendly. Dogs are not allowed inside the house, but dogs are welcome at all the events that take place in the park.
Steamers To Go

Dexter The Dog had a nice time walking around with his human family. After we strolled around Whalehead, we hopped over to Currituck Beach Lighthouse. Once again, the grounds were dog-friendly, but inside the lighthouse was off limits. But that’s okay with me; I don’t think I would have made it up those steps (220 of them)! It was fun walking those grounds as well. They had a museum shop, but I did not ask if Dexter could go inside. The word museum sometimes makes me nervous.

Next, it was time to take a break and get some lunch. We found out Steamers To Go was dog-friendly on their outside deck. They were very accommodating and even brought Dexter The Dog a nice bowl of water. The weather was perfect and the chicken Caesar salad was tasty. Dexter also ate his lunch there in one of his food-stuffed dog toys.

After lunch, we strolled around the shopping center that Steamers To Go was in, Tim Buck II. We had not planned to visit this plaza, so I did not ask about their pet policy.
Corolla Wild Horses…Sort Of

The Corolla horses would have been something we would have liked to see, but we were limited on time. They do have various dog-friendly jeep tours, so we will have to put that on our to-do list for another dog-friendly Outer Banks vacation! Sitting on one of the painted horse statues was as close as we got this year.
