Dog-Friendly Vacations in The Midwest
Dog-Friendly Frankenmuth, Michigan Dog Bowl 2014
Once again the Frankenmuth Dog Bowl was a huge success. If you recall, I have been participating in the Dog Bowl now since 2010. The reason is pretty simple: it’s loads of fun! This year, Grandma, Mom, and I met up with some of our Cavalier friends. Miss Penny and I go way back….we actually met at the Dog Bowl in 2013! You might also recall our big dog-friendly Chicago trip we took. Talk about a lot of fun.
This year’s dog bowl was of course in Frankenmuth Michigan, which is pretty dog-friendly year around.
We particularly like the Frankenmuth River Place Shops where the Dog Bowl was held. A lot of the shops have a paw print on their door, which means friendly, well-behaved dogs are welcome! That’s me!!!
One of the things I like to do every year at the Dog Bowl is wade in the water areas. They have these wonderful watering spots all through the shopping area. For some reason, I start a trend when I go in and other dogs follow. I’m not sure why – maybe they are shy at first.
A dog adventure isn’t complete without a boat ride! At least that’s what I think. Each year we ride the Bavarian Belle Riverboat. It is a wonderful experience for the entire family, including us dogs. It’s a family run riverboat, and they are so kind, generous and have a great tour. I’m not sure if they are dog-friendly all the time, or just during the Dog Bowl. You should contact them to make sure before planning your trip.
So that about wraps up that dog-friendly adventure in Michigan. Just counting the days until the 2015 Frankenmuth Dog Bowl!!
