4-Legger USDA Certified Organic Aloe Dog Shampoo – Hypoallergenic and Fragrance Free (Unscented) Review
Disclaimer: This is a sponsored review. However, I will always try to offer my readers great product selections. Your trust is very appreciated, and never taken for granted. ~Tonya, Dexter and Angel Nutter
Dexter the Dog and I have been reviewing and discussing 4-Legger’s new USDA Certified Organic Dog Shampoo with Organic Aloe line since spring 2018. The first four in their aloe line are organic orange with neem, peppermint and tea tree oil, lemongrass and hemp, and lavender. I’ve saved the best shampoo for last, their hypoallergenic Soothe dog shampoo.
Before I get into why this is one of my favorite all-natural dog shampoos, I want to get you up to speed if this is your first time on my blog. For me, it’s all about ALL the ingredients inside a product. All of them, not just the ones listed on the front of the package. Flip that package over, read, and research.
It can be a pretty scary world when you start to read ingredient panels. It’s a shame what is allowed in products, and pet grooming products are notorious for including unsafe, unnatural, and potentially harmful ingredients. And remember, the skin is the body’s largest organ! Rubbing harmful or harsh chemicals all over it, is not a good or safe thing.
I’ve been working with 4-Legger since 2016 on various projects and dog shampoo reviews. Over the years, I have had nothing but great results with their products. They are one of the few pet brands I trust through and through. They do not use synthetic ingredients in their pet grooming products, which is huge in the unregulated pet grooming industry.
What makes the 4-Legger USDA-certified organic aloe dog shampoo line so unique is the use of organic aloe juice. Instead of using water, they substituted aloe, making this dog shampoo very moisturizing and hydrating. This is also the first USDA certified organic dog shampoo using safe and nontoxic organic aloe juice and organic oils. The only “scents” you’ll find in their blends are from the natural organic oils and organic essential oils!
Organic Dog Shampoo for Sensitive Skin and Allergies
4-Legger’s SOOTHE hypoallergenic dog shampoo is fragrance free (contains no essential oils) and is a perfect solution for pets with sensitive skin or that are sensitive to scents. The hypoallergenic shampoo contains organic moisturizes such as aloe, aloe juice, coconut, shea butter, olive, sunflower, and jojoba, creating a gentle and soothing formula. These natural oils help relieve itchy skin, moisturize dry skin, and soothe inflamed and irritated skin.
4-Legger SOOTHE Ingredients-Organic Aloe Juice, Organic Saponified Oils (Coconut, Shea Butter, Olive, Sunflower, and Jojoba), Organic Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Rosemary Extract
I think of the SOOTHE line as a “naked dog shampoo,” a perfect base for homemade dog shampoo recipes. Holistic veterinarians well-versed in essential oils for dogs can help formulate the perfect DIY dog shampoo to meet your dog’s special needs.
While bathing Dexter with the SOOTHE, there wasn’t any odor, even from the organic rosemary extract. Scent-free and nice. Dexter’s results with 4-Legger products are always amazing. When it comes to making organic dog shampoo recipes, 4-Legger is tops! His whites are very white, and his reds are shiny and bright. The aloe juice line leaves Dexter’s fur silky smooth and soft.
If your dog has skin issues or sensitivities, I highly recommend trying 4-Legger’s hypoallergenic SOOTHE formula. While you are on their website, check out all their other formulas and organic pet grooming products. You won’t be disappointed.
