Healthy cat treats aren’t just for spoiled cats – they are for all cats! What cat doesn’t enjoy a healthy cat treat? And yes, you can train a cat; you just have to find the right motivation. I mean, nobody and certainly no cat, wants to work for free. Here are five healthy and tasty cat treats. And rest assured, you will not find any unsavory ingredients such as corn, sugar, “animal” or “meat” in these treats. All these cat treats are made with quality ingredients.

Dr. Harvey’s Whisker Smackers: Dr. Harvey’s has been a pioneer in the natural pet food and treat category for three decades. Their Whisker Smackers cat treats are a healthy and motivating snack for even the most finicky kitty. The single ingredient cat treats are made with human-grade cod, beef, or chicken. Nothing else. No artificial ingredients, sugars, dyes, salt, nada.

The Honest Kitchen Smittens: OK, I’m not one to fall for gimmicks, but the name of this healthy cat treat is just too cute! But no fear, The Honest Kitchen backs up this cute cat treat with a powerful punch. Smittens is made with human-grade, 100% Icelandic haddock. The haddock is also line-caught, a great bonus! You won’t find anything unsavory in this tasty treat. The Honest Kitchen also provides a calorie count of only 1.1 calories apiece.

All treats are either 100% wild-caught salmon, free-range venison liver, or turkey liver. No GMO’s, no fillers or preservatives. Nothing artificial. Just one, healthy, gently freeze-dried ingredient.

These single-ingredient healthy cat treats do not contain any preservatives, sugar, or any other nasty stuff. Primal has a large selection of meats to choose from!

Stella and Chewy’s Carnivore Kisses: Cats are obligate carnivores, so the name is right up their alley. Stella and Chewy’s Carnivore Kisses come in two flavors, chicken and beef. The meat is raised without the use of hormones or antibiotics. The beef cat treats use grass-fed beef from farms in North America, Australia, or New Zealand. The chickens used are cage-free from North America.

  1. I like that these products are made with human grade ingredients, that gives a pet parent peace of mind. I don’t have cats but I’m happy to learn about these companies, I know most or all of them make dog treats & food too. Thanks for the info!
    Love & biscuits,

  2. This is so timely! I’ve been looking for treats for Noodle that are all natural and healthy besides HK’s fish ones, which she hates. She’s just not a seafood kind of girl! I didn’t know Dr. Harvey made cat treats!

    1. Ya! Ding-ding. That’s it. One ingredient, nothing else. Tasty, healthy and motivating.

    1. Thanks. Yes, there are healthy and motivating cat treats out there, we just have to find them. 🙂

  3. I’m very careful about what I feed my pets, and constantly read ingredients to see what’s in them. Relying on the packaging alone is too misleading. They all look wonderful, and prefer as few ingredients as possible. Thanks for calling attention to these products.

    1. Yes! We must read the entire ingredient panel as our first line of choosing. 🙂

  4. Most of these we can’t get here in New Zealand, but it is hitting home how much more natural treats are becoming. There is a focus on the health and well being of our cats and this is a good thing. Less focus on profit, more on the welfare of our animals.

    1. Oh, that’s a shame. I would venture to guess you have some one ingredient brands in New Zealand. I know you have some healthy meat over there!

  5. These look like awesome healthy cat treats being made by some of our favorite dog food/treat companies. You have just given me some great ideas for holiday gifts for my friends with cats!

  6. The last thing Trout needs is a treat to add to his love handles. These look so tasty that I might have to lift the treat ban next weekend!

    1. Oh, but they are 100% meat, so low calories and you can easily incorporate into daily calorie allotment since cats need at least a 90% meat diet.

  7. Ricky would love to sample this line-up. And yes, it is possible to train cats. Living in a house full of dogs helps (I think).

  8. These are great treats! My kitties haven’t tried all of them, but I know there are a couple they love listed here. What cat doesn’t love meat? 🙂 High-quality meat really is the best for kitties.

  9. I’m glad that there are great treat choices for cats too! I always try to give some dog treats to the rescue, I’ll have to consider adding some cat ones too.

    1. Haha Yes, everything we use must be looked at carefully. Ya, healthy treats.
