(UPDATE: Unfortunately, the state of Delaware no longer allows dogs on outside or inside patios.) The Centreville Cafe and Montrachet Fine Foods in Centreville, Delaware not only offers a dog-friendly outdoor patio garden, but also welcomes well-behaved dogs indoors! You read that correctly, indoors. Because Centreville Cafe and Montrachet Fine Foods is a catering business, dogs are permitted inside.
This beautiful, dog-friendly cafe is nestled in the historic area of Centreville, Delaware. From the beginning, they wanted to be part of the community creating a welcoming atmosphere for both people and canines alike. Cafe owner, Susan Teiser, and her staff are truly passionate about including local families, which include their beloved dogs.
Susan is committed to flavorful food using only the freshest local ingredients. Menu items are created from back-to-basics recipes representing all the good things in life. She prides herself on being able to meet special dietary needs and requirements with not only amazing flavor but exquisite presentation.
As soon as we walked inside the cafe, we were greeted with smiles by Susan and her amazing staff. The cafe decor reminded me of a tearoom. It had a wonderful look and vibe about it. Their menu offered a large variety of options, all named after birds! What a unique concept.
I ordered the grilled raven. The raven was a wrap filled with turkey breast, cranberry stuffing, cranberry mayo, lettuce, and tomato. Chris ordered the grilled parrot, ham, white pizza spread, pickles, tomato on rye. We both had to order a few lattes, after all, it was raining outside, but we had indoor seats!
Chris and I walked the dogs into the quaint seating-and-dining area. The room was filled with a library, a nice window bench, and cute tables and chairs. There were a few families having lunch, and one table was set up for a four-course tea party!
Dexter and Levi napped patiently at our feet as Chris and I enjoyed our sandwiches. It’s astonishing how heavenly fresh food tastes! Our food was created with love and local ingredients, and that came across after each bite. The lattes were rich with flavor and certainly hit the spot.
I couldn’t leave the cafe without ordering one of their fabulous key lime pies for my mom. She’s a pie lover through and through. The key lime pie was fresh and definitely had a nice limey kick. Perfect for a key lime pie enthusiast.
If you find yourself near the Centreville, Delaware area, you must visit Centreville Cafe and Montrachet Fine Foods. Make sure you either save room for dessert or order one to go!

Oh my gosh your Brittany’s are SOOOO CUTE! This was a great little guide! I’m planning a few NE road trips with my family (and our pup) this summer so this will be very handy. Thank you!
Thank you! He’s actually a cousin to the Brittany, a Cavalier. We’re heading east NE to Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New Hampshire this year, to stay tuned for more.
I have seen a pet cafe over here and it is so lovely to see all furry babies together enjoying their playdate too.
That’s fantastic! I’d love to see more follow suit.
Love it, love it, LOVE IT! The idea of dining with all kinds of cute little pooches all over the place is incredibly appealing to this dog lover.
🙂 And all dogs were well behaved and sitting nicely by their tables. 🙂
It is so nice that there are restaurants you can take your dogs to rather than leave them in the car or at home
Yes!
I love to see that so many places cater to people with pets! They’re a part of your family too!
They really are family.
As a big fan of dogs, I find this to be amazing! I think it’s awesome to be able to dine with your fur baby, and doggy watch!
The table next to us had a little child who just kept smiling at the pups. Great feeling.
In all honesty, i’ve never to a dog-friendly restaurant. I bet the vibe is amazing with all the cute dogs around. I need to do go to one the soonest.
The cafe had a wonderful vibe and so friendly and inviting.
This place looks so cozy and charming. The “ruffins” are a super cute touch. It really feels like being invited into someone’s welcoming home.
You are so right. It was very homey and welcoming.
OMG this place is so adorable! I live for dog-friendly places. It makes me so happy that establishments are being more inclusive of our furbabies
Thank you! I totally agree!
This is awesome! I is rare to find a dog friendly restaurant that is that nice and cozy looking plus a lot of good food to enjoy. Your dogs look happy and content too. So behaved!
It really is! They were on their best behavior and made us proud. 🙂
I love going to pet cafes or restaurants and see people coming in with their pets. While pet owners get to enjoy a meal and a chat, the pets get to socialize too.
The Centreville Cafe was a perfect spot for socializing. 🙂
I’ve never seen a pet cafe before that allows dogs. That’s a great idea as it means people can bring their 4 legged friends out to socialise too.
Me either! It was such a treat.
Oh my thank you for sharing this! Your Brittany is a cutie and so well behaved. I Love it!
Thank you. He’s actually a Cavalier, a cousin to the Brittany. 🙂
Such beautiful dogs you have. Anyway, the patio indeed looks so dog-friendly; would love to be at such a spot if I had a dog too. Anyway, the treats you had are leaving me to drool.
Thank you. Yes, everything was drool-worthy!
This sounds like the perfect place to go and eat with your furry friends! They certainly look like they are enjoying themselves.
Beautiful cafe. Yes, the dogs really enjoyed chillin’ out.
Awe they are so sweet! I need to go with my pup

We live in such a dog friendly area and it’s always fun to see the pups out and about. These look like great places!
That’s fantastic! I too enjoy seeing people out with their dogs. They are family. 🙂
I love traveling with my dog! I have definitely found dog friendly hotels but restaurants can be a bit harder.
So glad you travel with your dog. It’s really such a great experience. Yes, eating can be tricky. We have had times due to weather or location that we’ve gotten food to go. 🙂
That is so nice of the restaurant owner to allow furry friends to go in too. the dogs are cute.
Thanks. Yes. It’s so amazing that it’s truly dog-friendly inside and out.

The cafe was very nice. I bet their outside patio is just amazing right about now.
Travelling with dogs is not easy and having to know places where you can take your dog without hassles is great. Great for people living in that area.
It definitely takes a bit more planning and flexibility but is so worth it.
This sounds like a wonderful place! I never traveled with previous dogs. I just adopted a 7 month old puppy after not having a dog for 13 months. I’d like to try traveling with her.
