Does your dog have a dry nose or cracked dog paws? I bet you are trying to find natural remedies to help with your dog’s dry nose and rough dog paws. The first thing I always recommend is to check your dog’s diet.
Dogs (cats and people, too!) need a diet with plenty of moisture to ensure organs receive enough moisture to function properly. Skin is our biggest organ, which includes a dog’s nose and paw pads. Lack of moisture in a dog’s diet can lead to a dry dog nose and dry, rough paws. A dog with dry paws, nose, and coat may also have a Yin Deficiency. Yin Deficiency basically means a being is too hot, and does not have enough coolness or moisture in their body. Increasing Yin tonics added to the right foods and herbs can help rectify this problem.
However, a dog’s environment can also lead to a cracked dog nose and cracked paws. Once a species-appropriate diet is addressed, you can apply a natural moisturizer to your dog’s paws and nose to help bring moisture back into his body and to add a layer of protection to help prevent damage from the elements.
Luckily, my friends at 4-Legger are to the rescue! Protect and soothe your dog’s nose and paws with their Certified Organic Healing Balm for Dog Nose and Paw Pads. 4-Legger’s dog healing balm is non-toxic and USDA certified organic. The dog balm is loaded with natural healing and moisturizing ingredients, specifically chosen for their nourishing properties.
The organic hemp oil is rich in omega fatty acids and provides anti-inflammatory properties. Organic shea butter is also an anti-inflammatory, and helps provide and retain moisture. As a bonus, organic shea butter is a natural sunscreen and helps heal damaged skin. The organic beeswax is a natural antibacterial and forms a protective barrier on your dog’s nose and paw pads, which helps hold in the moisture while also protecting against environmental conditions.
Certified Organic Healing Balm for Dog Nose and Paw Pad Ingredients: Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Rosemary Extract, Organic Calendula Extract, Organic St. John’s Wort, Organic Beeswax, Natural Vitamin E (Tocopherol)
Dexter’s nose and paw pads are in pretty good shape but not perfect, and I certainly appreciate the protective aspect of 4-Legger’s healing balm. I applied the paw and nose balm to Dexter’s nose and pads twice a day. I just placed a dab of the balm on my finger and rubbed it on Dexter’s nose and pads.
The healing balm absorbed quickly, but I did place toddler socks on Dexter’s feet to help prevent too much licking. Dexter loves the taste and wanted to lick it off even before I had it all on. I provided him with a bully stick after applying the balm, so he would focus on chewing his stick instead of taking off his socks and licking his feet. Luckily all the ingredients are safe and non-toxic, and since the balm absorbs easily, the healing action gets to work quickly.
As you can see from Dexter’s before and after pictures, after only six days of using 4-Legger Certified Organic Healing Balm for Dog Nose and Paw Pads, his paw pads are looking healthier. Because Dexter’s paws and nose were in pretty good shape to begin with, there wasn’t a dramatic change. I try to stay as proactive as I can in Dexter’s health to keep him in tip-top shape. That said, I will be adding 4-Legger’s healing balm to Dexter’s weekly regimen to aid in protection and moisture.
The healing balm is also good for hot spots, skin conditions, wound healing, and bug bites, so it has a place in Dexter’s dog first aid kit. As an extra bonus, the balm is a natural dog sunscreen of SPF 15, so I will be using it once the sun finds its way back to Ohio! 😉

What do your dog’s feet and nose look like? Tell me in the comments.
We’re going to be moving to Florida and my dog will need it even more.
Very true! We will be visiting Florida in the spring. Love the state!
I have 6 dogs and I work hard to make sure they are healthy but sometimes things happen. When those things do I prefer naturally remedies for them because I feel they are safer.
Wonderful! Good luck Madonna, and don’t forget you can enter on Facebook too! https://www.facebook.com/raisingyourpetsnaturally/posts/10155187816046024
Awww so nice that there’s something for dogs too! I mean we take care of our dry cracked skin so of course they need to!
Thanks, Neely. Very true. I’ve used it too! Super nice.
Our pup experiences a lot of dryness, which I’m sure is due to living in a desert climate. I need to pick up some of this helpful balm to have on hand. Thanks for the recommendation!
You bet. Two contests are going on, so good luck. The desert is tough on pups.
Great dane needs it
Big feet to cover! 😉 Good luck.
Great post as always and Dexter well is Adorable Dexter, love the pic with the socks on. I think the balms are very important but till now living in San Francisco I have not had to use them although I do have in the house for emergencies.
🙂 Thanks, Ruth. Dexter’s a hoot.

Stuey always has always had a dry nose from rinsing his sinuses with saline due to his open cleft palate. We use bagbalm on his dry nose but it doesn’t work very well. I didn’t know they made a product for this problem, that is great news!
Sweet Stuey! I’m not surprised the bagbalm isn’t working. Petroleum-based products just block and cover pores and do not offer any healing. <3
Weather can be rough on all of us. Good to know how to soothe my pup’s dryness, especially with more natural solutions.
Thanks, Crystal. It’s so important to think about the chemicals we place on ourselves and our pets. 🙂
This looks like a great product. We actually use something similar for our Husky because the winters can be really challenging for dry and cracked skin.
Thanks, Carrie. That’s great. Protection is so important. 🙂
Gosh this is really great to find. The winter cold certainly takes its toll on our doggies. Going to have to grab me this treatment so we have it on hand for our doggies during this cold, dry icky winter season!
Thanks, Brandy. It definitely has a place in Dexter’s dog necessity box.
Cool. We have to take special care of our Livestock Guardian’s feet because she is out with the animals all the time. She has plenty of shelter, but when it is cold out, I check her pads regularly to make sure they are not getting cracked in the cold.
I’m so glad you check her feet daily. Those tootsies can get cold. 🙂
I have to check my dog’s paws! Thanks for the timely reminder. My fur ball needs to stay healthy. He’s such a sweet little thing. I will need to get a jar of that healing balm just in case.
Thanks, Annemarie. It’s a good thing to have on hand for sure.
My sister-in-law & her family have a fantastic labradoodle! Up in New England during the winter, cracked paws seem to be an inevitability. So I’d love to win this for them to have for their cute fur baby!
Thanks, Annmarie! Good luck!
As part of her massage routine, I also try to give her a mani-pedi. I THINK she enjoys the balm I use on her pads, but would love to try this product as well. She too has fancy socks to keep her pads warm and comfy. Thank you for the great reviews! Love to Dexter!
hehehe Thanks, Patty. I love the pedi idea!
My pug gets a dry nose a lot. I know he could benefit from this product.
Good luck Helen! 2 pugs in a row. 🙂
I would love this for my pug’s paws. He has allergies and he constantly licks his paws and they get hard and dried out.
Hi, Sarah. Good luck. Allergies suck.
I would like this for our Chihuahua…we live in Upstate NY…freezing temps, salt and snow.
Chi baby!
We just got our dog and his skin was a mess. It is slowly getting better but I think this would be beneficial.
Thanks for helping your dog heal. <3
I have a border collie that’s a farm dog. I want this for her paws.
Another great breed!
My baby is 16, blind, diabetic and has dried paws. This would be great for her.
16! That’s amazing. Keep up the great work.
My dogs get dry noses and paw pads sometimes so I would like to try this on them.
This is a fantastic product. Good luck.
would love this for are Australian Shepherd. Thank you
🙂 Love Aussies!
