Dog, Cat and Pet Stroller Reviews: Pet Gear Special Edition Pet Stroller
I thought it would be a good idea to introduce you to and review my Pet Gear Special Edition Pet Stroller! In June 2014 Mom wrote an article on why some dogs use dog strollers. It’s a pretty good read, and you might be surprised about some of the ways a dog stroller comes in handy. But today, I’m going to talk specifically about my Pet Gear Special Edition Pet Stroller.
It all started 4 years ago when Mom and I were at a dog event in Michigan called the Frankenmuth Dog Bowl. That was when Mom first realized there were some very valid reasons why a dog might need a dog stroller (I’ll let you read that for yourself). Mom purchased my Pet Gear Special Edition Pet Stroller in the winter of 2010.
I’ve been using my Pet Gear Special Edition Pet Stroller for therapy dog visits, long outdoor dog adventures and even when I’m just too tired to walk. It’s a perfect height for me when doing therapy dog visits. Mom can roll me right up to the wheelchairs and big beds, and the friendly people can pet me with ease. With the 3-wheel design, Mom says it’s easy to maneuver around and pivot in tight spots. The wheels are hard plastic so they are tough and durable. It folds with ease and compacts pretty small, so it easily fits in the back seat of Mom’s car. It’s light too, so no awkwardness with folding and tossing in the car.
The Pet Gear Special Edition Pet Stroller has a canopy so Mom can put it up to block sun rays, or even zip me in if I need my own private space. My stroller also has cup holders at the handle (not shown on these links, sorry), and lots of storage in the bottom for extra things like water bowl, food, or coats. It also has side pockets to hold Mom’s phone and my doggie business cards.
I’m about 4 years in on using my Pet Gear Special Edition Pet Stroller about every other week, and it’s great! We take it on all our vacations and any long park visits. Mom wasn’t sure at first when buying a dog stroller, but she said she is so glad she did. One of her best investments! Paws up for my Pet Gear Special Edition Pet Stroller!
Pros: Super light, easy to open, great maneuverability, roomy storage, gives me a break from too much walking, great for dogs with medical or behavior issues.
Cons: Could be a bit longer inside, a bit tight to zip, an investment at about $150-$200
