Besides the amazing quality of ingredients used in 4-Legger’s dog shampoos, the ingredient choices are also unique. This new line contains organic aloe vera juice as the first ingredient. Aloe has been used to nourish the body, skin, and hair for over 6,000 years. Aloe juice has been used to help treat and condition flaky skin, dry skin, and minor infections. It also has been used for hair (aka fur, in our case) to increase the health, shine, and silkiness.

Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, and Organic Vegetable Glycerin provide hydration, moisturizes, soothes inflammation, are rich in vitamins and fatty acids to aid in creating a healthy and organic dog shampoo.

The organic sweet orange essential oil is packed with Vitamin C to help repair skin, promotes healthy skin, and also helps reduce inflammation and bacteria. As an added bonus, sweet orange essential oil is uplifting emotionally.

After thoroughly wetting Dexter, I began to lather and scrub Dexter. For those unfamiliar with natural shampoos that don’t have any synthetic lathering agents, if you feel like you need more of a lather,  don’t increase the shampoo, increase the water.

After I scrubbed Dexter from head to tail, I began my rinse process. It’s super important to rinse thoroughly. I recommend rinsing and rinsing again. You want to ensure removing all the shampoo. Don’t forget the pits and bottom area.

Typical for nontoxic dog shampoo, Dexter’s coat felt a bit tacky when wet. But I’m very familiar with this process and feel. Once Dexter fully dried, his fur was super soft and extremely white! I gave Dexter a good brushing and was tickled at how soft he felt. I’ve always loved the quality of 4-Legger’s dog shampoos, but they were right, he was even more silky smooth. His chest fur was soft, like a bunny. Now, that’s pretty impressive.

I love that I don’t have to worry about the ingredients inside of 4-Legger’s products (but I’ll continue to always read each ingredient panel). 4-Legger uses simple, clean, all-natural ingredients. I know they are a company that truly cares about Dexter’s health and what I put on him.
