Lake Raystown Resort Amenities

Our dog-friendly accommodation offered a long list of great amenities for human guests. People can enjoy Proud Mary Showboat, on-site dog-friendly restaurants, helpful concierge, firepits for gathering and toasting marshmallows, convenience stores, hiking trails, marina and boat slips, cable in cabins, campsites, and RV sites, paddleboard and pedal boat rentals. I would imagine the kids really like the WildRiver Waterpark, the modern and safe children’s playground, and the arcade and game room. It’s no wonder Lake Raystown Resort is one of Pennsylvania’s best destinations for families.

When we checked in at the resort, the staff welcomed us with open hands and even dog treats for Dexter and Levi. These dogs know how to grab attention. Not only were dogs allowed at this resort, they were treated like family.

We drove up to our rustic cabin and were immediately struck by all the tall pine trees. Our cabin was a short walk from the water and offered plenty of space between our cabin and our neighbor’s. The dog-friendly cabin had a nice front porch and a nice “yard” with a firepit and picnic table. It was great that we had plenty of private space to call our own.

Inside, there was a galley kitchen with a bunk bed, dining area, stove, kitchen sink, microwave, mini refrigerator, dishes, and a black-and-white cable TV. We had a private bathroom, a bedroom with two double beds, and we also took part in the optional bed linens program, which provided sheets, pillows, and blankets.

Our pet-friendly accommodation was just what we needed. Everything worked well, with the exception of the Internet being a little inconsistent. But we were there to enjoy the area, not to stay inside and surf the web.

Our dog-friendly cabin view

During our weekend at Raystown Lake Region, we explored the dog-friendly aspects of the area. You can read about our adventures in this article. We also spent a good deal of time at the resort, including eating at the Marina Cafe, which was amazing and offered a great dog-friendly patio. Ordered a top-notch pizza from Best Way Pizza and took it back to our cabin.

We enjoyed walking around the resort and visiting the alpacas. Dexter and Levi thought they were pretty neat to watch. What the dogs enjoyed most was walking the shoreline of Raystown Lake. One of my personal favorite aspects was that all of our neighbors were friendly, but quiet. Our last evening, we built a campfire and enjoyed just chilling.

  1. The cabin looks so cute and cosy, no wonder you and Dexter had a lovely stay there. The outdoors looks so pretty as well, with so much nature surrounding the resort.

  2. This is so cute! There’s nothing better than being able to take your furry family members on vacation with you. Beautiful dogs, by the way.

  3. I love that more accommodations are being pet friendly. I like these cottages accommodated these cute cocker spaniels.

  4. I love the ambiance. The wooden structures really are so beautiful to me. When I have a house someday, Im thnking of similar to this cottage. It would be so perfect for all my cats and dogs. 🙂
