4-Legger USDA Certified Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Spray Review

It’s that time of year again. Dexter the Dog suffers from seasonal allergies. He gets itchy skin, starts to bite at his feet and legs, his face and feet get yeasty, and he is overall uncomfortable. I do what I can to keep him as comfortable as possible and to rid his body of the seasonal allergens such as pollens, grass, lawn chemicals, and who knows what.
One of the natural home remedies for dog allergies is frequent baths with a truly all-natural shampoo for itchy skin. 4-Legger is the only dog shampoo I use or recommend. Not only are their organic dog grooming products effective, but the ingredients are also sustainably sourced and responsibly harvested to be planet friendly, human friendly, and pet friendly.
During this year’s dog allergy season, I decided to try 4-Legger’s USDA Certified Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Spray which two weeks ago won the 2020 EcoExcellence Award for Best Dog Grooming Product. This is the 3rd year in a row 4-Legger has taken home the prize!
4-Legger made the apple cider vinegar spray for pet parents to have a safe and non-toxic dog organic conditioner and to help dogs transition to a true organic dog shampoo. 4-Legger USDA Certified Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Spray is chock full beneficial organic herbs and organic essential oils to improve a dog’s skin and coat and help restore their natural skin-and-coat balance. I had to give it a try. I knew it wouldn’t hurt.
The apple cider rinse can be used before or after giving your dog a bath. I decided to apply the rinse after Dexter’s bath. After bathing Dexter in 4-Legger’s Revitalize Orange Organic Neem dog shampoo, I sprayed him from his neck to his tail, on his legs and belly. I then massaged it into his skin and fur. I followed this by a good rinse until the water ran clear.
After Dexter dried, I brushed him. I’m always so happy with how soft, fluffy, and bright his fur is after a 4-Legger bath. But, I didn’t stop there. As part of Dexter’s natural care and to continue to fight seasonal allergies and lawn chemicals, I wipe Dexter down after each outside trip. My DIY home remedy is simple. 2 cups of distilled water along with 1 tablespoon of 4-Legger shampoo. I keep this organic dog wipe in a glass container right by the door. Easy-peasy. Now, I use their apple cider vinegar spray instead of the shampoo. 4-Legger’s USDA Certified Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Spray can also be spritzed on a dog’s paws 1-2 times a day.
What are the ingredients inside this organic dog spray for itchy skin? If you have been following my blog at all, you know I list every ingredient inside a product for your review. I don’t use any sneaky review tactics and only spotlight the “good” ingredients. Sure, this is a sponsored pet product review, but I’m using the product on Dexter. Dexter. He’s my life, my world. I’m not about to review a product on or with him that has anything that could possibly harm him. Rest assured, 4-Legger and I both believe in transparency and full disclosure, which includes listing every ingredient inside.
4-Legger USDA Certified Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Spray Ingredients: Purified water, vodka (organic), vinegar, apple cider (raw, unfiltered, organic), guar gum (natural plant based, organic), lemongrass essential oil (organic), sweet orange essential oil (organic), xanthan gum (natural gum), olive oil (EV, organic), shea butter (organic), ylang ylang essential oil (organic), thyme essential oil (organic), rosehip seed oil (organic), organic henna herb powder (colorless), sage leaf herb (organic), bilberry leaf herb (organic)
Now that you can see everything inside the bottle, I will highlight some of the benefits of these ingredients and how they may help your dog with allergies.
Inside the bottle, 4-Legger uses purified water which is filtered to remove any impurities. The organic vodka used acts as a preservative and a natural astringent that helps relieve your dog from the itchy skin, reduces dander, tightens and seals the hair cuticle which helps manage frizzy fur. Hmmm, I may need to try this in the humidity! The organic, raw apple cider vinegar also relieves itchy skin, tightens pores, and reduces bacteria and fungus. Fleas, they hate ACV! The combination of their organic essential oils, lemongrass, sweet orange, ylang ylang, and thyme provide anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-fungal, and antimicrobial properties. Together, this combination helps heal skin, reduces inflammation, and supports a good immune system. The organic oils and herbs used provide a natural conditioning effect, detangler, vitamins, fatty acids, and so much more. While Dexter doesn’t shed as much as some dogs because he is brushed frequently, 4-Legger said the organic conditioner for dogs is a great all natural deshedder.
One of the reasons I support the 4-Legger brand is they know their stuff. The organic dog shampoos and dog grooming products they create are not only safe and effective, but promote healing.
Once again, I’m thrilled with the quality of 4-Legger’s product line. Dexter’s scratching isn’t nearly as bad as it was in previous years. Whether it’s the addition of 4-Legger’s USDA Certified Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Spray or something else, I don’t know. What I do know, is that it now is and will continue to be part of Dexter’s natural allergy home routine.
